Week 3: Drama

Hi everyone and welcome back to my drama and dance blog!

I have attached a short summary of the engaging activities that we learned in our third week of the drama course. In this week we learned how to make drama activities cross-curricular with mathematics and the possibilities are endless!

One of the activities that I did not mention in the vlog was as a class we were asked not to speak but we had to sort ourselves based off of pinky size. This is a great activity that allows you to differentiate instruction for hard of hearing students and ESL students. We used a ruler to check our pinky length and then rounded to the nearest whole number in order to track the lengths.

Another really awesome activity that we did was in groups of about 5-6 people. The groups were provided with a math concept (for example division) and we had to act out how to do this math concept without speaking. This is also a great activity to use in order to differentiate instruction for ESL students because verbal discussion is not a requirement so it is a strategy that you have to practice and learn through gestures.
